New registration process in place for programs, camps and events involving minors
The university has launched a new online process that streamlines registration for departments hosting events involving minors.
The registration process has changed from being managed by Qualtrics to using the Ideal-Logic Participant Registration System. All employees who host events involving minors will use this new system.
The change strengthens the safety of minors participating in educational, recreational and other activities. The Ideal-Logic Participant Registration System streamlines registration for departments and provides compliance staff with a more efficient way to track activities from an all-in-one platform. The system will collect participant information, complete participation waivers and securely process payments, and support compliance and record keeping.
Sponsoring departments must comply with the Protection of Minors Policy, PPM 3130, by registering their programs, camps and events. The policy outlines guidelines and specific criteria for university employees and third parties interacting with minors.
In addition to registering events, sponsoring departments must conduct background checks, record retention after a program, report any incidents, follow supervision guidelines, and ensure that staff and volunteers complete the required annual training. Visit the Youth Camps and Programs website to register.
The department of risk and compliance and Housing and Dining Services will host a Zoom information session from 1:30-3:30 p.m. on Feb. 19. Sign up to attend.
