K-State launches Military Career Skills internship program
K-State is an approved provider for the Army Career Skills and Department of Defense SkillBridge programs, offering internship opportunities for transitioning military service members.
Both initiatives assist service members in gaining civilian job skills and improving their employment prospects after military service.
K-State's Military Career Skills program offers qualified service members a 90-120-day internship during their last six months of military service. Any university department may participate.
The program benefits both the service members and the university. It's free to both the participating service members and K-State departments because service members receive military compensation and benefits while participating in their internship. It also supports K-State's strategic plan to build a next-gen workforce by attracting and retaining high-performing, talented, and engaged faculty and staff with varying backgrounds and experiences.
Departments can learn more about the program and how to participate by visiting K-State's Military Career Skills program webpage or speaking with their talent acquisition strategic partner. Military service members can view more information and express interest in an internship on the Military Career Skills program external webpage.
