Students needed to assist with summer events

Submitted by Haylee Hendryx

The College of Education is hosting two summer events, Grandparent's University from July 27-29 and the Future EdCats Summit from July 30-Aug. 1 both on the Manhattan campus.

Grandparent's University is a special event where grandparents bring their grandchildren to experience life at K-State. The event includes fun educational sessions, campus activities and even a trip to a waterpark.

The Future EdCats Summit is a program for high school students interested in becoming educators. These students will visit K-State's Manhattan campus, stay in the residence halls and learn more about the College of Education and the teaching profession.

We are offering current K-State students an opportunity to get involved on campus and develop their leadership skills while getting paid or by earning professional development hours.

We are currently looking for students to help support us for the entirety of both events, July 27-Aug. 1. During Grandparent's University, students will be supporting workshop presenters, answering questions for participants, guiding visitors around campus and assisting the planning staff. During the Future EdCats Summit, students will be acting as camp counselors, facilitating ice breakers, guiding campers around campus to various activities, acting as a leader to a group of campers and assisting the planning staff when needed.

Students interested in this opportunity should email gpu@k-state.edu by April 25.
