Grain science and industry hosts distinguished lecture about advances, opportunities in natural polymers

Lina Zhang, distinguished professor in the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, will be delivering the second grain science and industry department Distinguished Lecture at 3:30 p.m. April 1 in the International Grains Program Conference Center, across the street from Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium on Kimball Avenue.
Zhang will present the lecture "Advances and Opportunities in Natural Polymers."
Zhang is a leading expert in natural polymer science and chemistry. Since 1973, Zhang has been a faculty member of the chemistry and molecular sciences department at Wuhan University. She holds the distinction of being a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a member of the editorial boards of five international scientific journals. Zhang has published 490 scientific papers and eight books, and has been awarded 70 patents and numerous awards.
