Applications for 2015 K-State Student Ambassadors now open
The K-State Alumni Association is accepting applications for the 2015 K-State Student Ambassadors. Apply today!
Each year a male and a female student are elected to spend the year attending alumni and campus activities, speaking to alumni, friends, current and prospective students. The ambassadors serve a one-year term, and each receives a $1,500 scholarship, clothing from Borck Bros., and the official K-State ring from the K-State Alumni Association. Ambassadors are elected by the student body at Homecoming each year and serve until new ambassadors are elected.
The two K-State Student Ambassadors represent the student body at K-State Alumni Association events throughout the state and at university activities. The ambassador program began in 1977 as a way to involve student representatives at alumni events.
Student Ambassadors visit with prospective students and alumni at alumni association events throughout Kansas, attend Student Alumni Board meetings and activities, assist with alumni association programming on campus like class reunions, Homecoming Student Committee and other special events, as well as assist the President's Office as needed.
The K-State Student Ambassadors' duties include the following:
- Visit with prospective students and alumni at K-State Alumni Association events throughout the state of Kansas.
- The ambassador should be prepared to give a short presentation about current student life at K-State at any time during their tenure. Ambassadors are encouraged to work together to compile a short outline that either Ambassador can use individually or that they can use for a presentation together.
- Attending Student Alumni Board meetings and activities.
- K-State Alumni Association programming on campus such as class reunions, homecoming and other special events.
- Assist the president's office as needed.
The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1. If you have any questions please contact Gavin Hargrave at ghargrave@k-state.com or 785-532-5057.
