Green Action Fund Committee sponsors students' ideas
The Green Action Fund Committee was reformed in November 2014. It has since worked hard to utilize the $25,000 budget to sponsor student-initiated projects.
All of the projects sponsored by the Green Action Fund are proposed and carried out by students. If you are interested in invoking lasting and transformation change at K-State, please submit your project proposal. All forms should be submitted in electronic form to sustainability@k-state.edu. The deadline for proposals is 4 p.m. Dec. 4.
Several projects have been sponsored by the Green Action Fund. Soon, students will be able to benefit from staple-free staplers in the Fiedler and Hale libraries. More recycling bins and bicycle racks will be placed near residence halls, and Radina's coffee grounds will be used to grow edible mushrooms. K-State First will provide reusable water bottles to incoming freshman students, which they can use at the new refillable water bottle stations in popular campus buildings. Children in the community will be inspired to explore nature through Green Kids, the joint initiative of HandsOn Kansas State, Delta Delta Delta sorority, the Horticulture Club, early childhood education students, the Student Farm, ECM REAL Food Lunch and the Center for Child Development.
