• Communicating Your Research to the Public: 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in the K-State Student Union, Room 227. How do you explain your research or scholarly work to your family, friends and the general public who are not experts in your field of study? Explaining your work and why it is important in a way that the general public and academics from other disciplines can understand can be very challenging. Attend this session to receive guidance from a panel of professionals on how to present technical information in an easy to understand manner, learn why it is important to communicate your research to the general public and have your questions answered.

• Publishing Your Research and Scholarly Work: 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the K-State Student Union's Cottonwood Room. In this seminar, graduate students will learn about the publication process and how to be successful in getting their work published. Learn how to increase your chances of success with each submission, how to deal with the rejections and how to effectively respond to feedback from editors and reviewers. The event will feature a brief panel discussion followed by roundtable discussions where students can interact one-on-one with professionals from various fields of study. This event is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of the publication process.
