Kansas Board of Regents April 19 meeting university updates

The monthly Kansas Board of Regents meeting on April 19 included some items related to Kansas State University.

Fiscal affairs

The Regents approved Kansas State University's three requests to raze two buildings, create a kitchen lab in Justin Hall and renovate the Mark A. Chapman Theatre in Nichols Hall.

Fiscal year 2019 Capital Improvement Requests

The Regents received fiscal year 2019 capital improvement requests and five-year plans. The Regents will take final action in May. View the requests and board staff recommendations.

Program review reports

The Regents approved K-State's program review report for the 2015-2016 academic year. K-State reviewed 12 programs representing three colleges. The colleges recommended that all programs continue.

Other matters: Kansans and higher education

The Regents heard a proposal that included K-State Global Campus's offer to coordinate the Finish What You Started initiative for Kansans who have earned some college credit but no degree. The initiative will be funded by in-kind contributions and an annual fee of $1,000 from each participating institution.
