UPC to host 26th annual battle of the bands
Rock out with Union Program Council and eight local bands battling for cash prizes at the 26th annual OPUS band competition.
The competition is scheduled for 5:30-11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, on Bosco Student Plaza. OPUS enables amateur, unsigned bands to perform in front of a college audience and gain exposure. Of those who entered, eight bands were selected to compete for a $400 first place prize, $300 second place prize and $200 third place prize.
The competition lineup will feature Enginuity, Daydream Empire, The Clearing, The Warmth, The Author and the Illustrator, Stix, Chase Fortune and The Trees. Visit the Union Program Council website at k-state.edu/upc for performance times.
Winners will be announced and presented with checks following the performances. Union Program Council After Hours tie-dying will also be available during the event.
