Your voice matters: Participate in the Healthy Minds Study
To help create a healthier and safer university, Kansas State University partnered with the JED Foundation, which operates the JED Campus initiative to assess current university programs and look for ways to enhance a school's mental health and suicide prevention systems, programs and policies.
Included in the JED consultation, K-State's Division of Student Life has joined with the Morrison Family Center for Student Well-being and Lafene Health Center to administer the Healthy Minds Study this semester. Survey dates are Feb. 13 through March 13.
Approximately 8,000 K-State students will be invited to participate in the web-based survey examining mental health, service utilization and related issues among undergraduate and graduate students. K-State is administering the survey to get a better understanding of the mental health of K-State students and to address specific needs.
Having results from the survey will increase awareness of student mental health and provide an opportunity to expand programs and services. Students are encouraged to complete the survey to help in these efforts.
Participating in this study will not only make you eligible for one of 12 prizes, but it is also an opportunity to make your voice heard. The confidential information provided to faculty and administration from this study reflects students' day-to-day experiences on campus and provides insight into both struggles and successes. This knowledge will be used to inform policy, practice and funding for programs and services on campus, thus bettering student life.
Check your K-State email for an email from healthyminds-ksu@umich.edu. Students who receive the invitation to participate in the survey have through March 13 to complete it.
