Financial planning doctoral student awarded 2023 NAPFA New Professional Award

Submitted by Morgan Graham

Daniel M. Yerger, doctoral student in the personal financial planning department, has been awarded the 2023 NAPFA New Professional Award by the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

The award is designed to recognize the achievements and contributions to the profession of young practitioner members of the association. It may be presented to a member who has made outstanding contributions in their professional and volunteer roles. Yerger is an active member and volunteer. He helped organize the association's West Region Symposium that took place in early 2023.

An emerging leader in financial planning, Yerger mentors new planners, actively engages with others about the profession and is working on a financial planning career book. He serves on several committees in the profession and has been recognized for his work, including a certificate of appreciation for pro bono work from the Financial Planning Association of Colorado.

The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors is the country's leading professional association of fee-only financial advisors — highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve. The association provides support and education for more than 4,400 practitioners all over the country and is governed by the NAPFA board of directors and supported by four region boards.
