Grad students and faculty: ETDR LaTeX updated template for graduate students

Submitted by Marty Courtois

For graduate students using LaTeX to write their electronic theses, dissertations, or reports -- or ETDR for short -- a newly revised ETDR LaTeX template is now available on the templates page of the ETDR website.

Here are some of the updates made to the template:

  • Removed the hypernat package. With updates to the hyperref and natbib packages, hypernat is no longer needed.
  • Changed the default reference style to superscript, and the bibliography to a generic unsorted style. The template can be modified to use many other styles.
  • Adjusted the placement of page headings for more consistency.
  • Expanded the LaTeX instructions to include guidelines on installing LaTeX and formatting references.

Use of the template is not required, but it can be helpful in making sure your ETDR meets all the Graduate School formatting requirements. If you have questions on using the ETDR LaTeX template, contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722 or helpdesk@k-state.edu.
