First-generation Student Center to host graduation celebration May 10

Submitted by Rebeca Paz

The First-generation Student Center, along with several campus partners, will celebrate this year’s first-generation May and Summer graduates. A celebration will take place from 7-8 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Forum Hall in the K-State Student Union.

We recognize the importance of celebrating our students’ accomplishments and the significance of this milestone for our students and their families and support systems. The graduates in attendance will receive a green cord symbolizing their resilience to wear to commencement as well as other small tokens of congratulatory sentiment.

Thank you to the following partners for your valuable contribution and generosity to make this event possible: Academic Achievement Center; K-State Alumni Center; Career Center; College of Arts and Sciences; department of geography and geospatial sciences; department of modern languages; Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging; McNair Scholars Program; and TRIO Educational Supportive Services.
