Emotional balance at the center
Strong emotions move us from our center in either a positive or negative track. During this swing, we are “off center.” Whether positive or negative, the swing is distracting and requires energy in its momentum.
Webster defines center as a principal or important point of concentration; the nucleus around which things are gathered or to which they tend; an object of attention, action, or force; as, a center of attraction.
When we are “centered,” we have found a point of serenity and composure that allows us to think fully and make effective decisions. Decision-making is difficult when we swing emotionally off-center. The swing moves us lose our balance. |
