In this Introduction module, we will discuss fundamentals for understanding the nature of heartache, heartbreak, and successful helping. Some parts of our conversation focus on principles of helping. Principles are insights that give depth to our understanding. Other cards focus on skills. Skills are practices. While principles focus on ideas, skills focus on action. Both are necessary to be effective in strengthening our ability to support someone in distress.
