Recognizing these “blind spots” is very difficult because beliefs elevated to truth resist change. For example, you might have found yourself disagreeing with your learning partner about she thought was true about you. You might have disagreed about a complimentary quality. We are probably more likely to agree with another’s negative impression of us than something positive.
