Losing
a dream makes us a stranger to ourselves.
This leaves a vacuum in goals that can be filled by others. Instead
of doing what they want to do, they may look to others to tell
them what is important. When they grow up and older, they may someday
realize that they invested their lives in something that was not
truly rewarding. They might conclude that they allowed themselves
to be puppets moved by strings manipulated by others.
