“Losing” teaches
more than winning
I think the key to becoming an inner champion is in losing. Champions
emerge from the struggle to endure adversity and persist toward
an honorable goal despite setback. Being a champion is a “heart” thing.
The kid on a losing team who shows up for every practice and works
hard during a game is more the champion than the child on a team
that is so powerful that it never loses. It is not necessary to
win to be a champion. It is necessary, though, to show strength
and grace in the face of disappointment and discouragement. That
is the real power of a champion.
