The impact of friends on self-respect
During the elementary school years, children draw even closer to their peers by forming peer groups. They begin to compare themselves to others and test their social skills in difficult circumstances without adult intervention. Their friendships are more enduring, though there is often turbulence in relationships that has to be faced and resolved.
