Write the 13 tips for managing the challenges
of discipline on a set of index cards. Choose one that seems most
important for you at this time. Tape this card on your bathroom
mirror. Use it as a reminder. As you get up in the morning, think
about the tip and how you might apply it later that day. Before
you go to bed, think about what happened that day and what you
learned about that tip. Write your feelings and responses on the
card and date it for further comparisons. Change cards when you
are ready to focus on a different issue.
If you are keeping a journal, rewrite the tips or add your
own to put them into your own words. What are the key ideas
you have learned about discipline? Share them with another
parent.
