Tool
#35. Say NO!
Definition:
When children are unsure about how serious you are about a limit, get their
attention and give a calm but firm signal of your disapproval (sometimes
called The Look).
Examples:
Father
and his young son are visiting the mall. The little boy starts begging
for a toy he sees in a toy store display. "No,"
the father says,
"I will not buy you that toy."
Mother
sees her preschooler take several cookies right before dinner. She gets
his attention and gives him THE LOOK. He puts the cookies back. |
