Tool
#6. Prepare a child for a difficulty
Definition:
When children will have to face a problem that cannot be changed or avoided,
give them information to manage the situation. Parents must be able to
anticipate a difficulty to use this tool effectively.
Example:
A
4-year-old is going shopping to help pick out a toy for his cousin's
birthday. Before leaving, mother tells him she cannot buy any toys
for him when they visit the store. Only one toy for his cousin will
be purchased. She makes sure he understands the purpose of the trip
before they leave. |
