Human capital services project schedules open forums

Submitted by Carla Bishop

All K-Staters are invited to participate in open forums from 4-5 p.m. today or 8-9 a.m. tomorrow Oct. 23, both in the K-State Student Union's Forum Hall to learn more about the human capital services project and provide input regarding the process.

A third open forum will be 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at K-State Salina in the College Center Conference Room. To encourage personal attendance and participation, live streaming of the open forums will not be occurring.

Open forums are the third step in Kansas State University’s partnership with Aon Hewitt Consultants to conduct a comprehensive universitywide evaluation of our capacity to support meeting our human capital needs as envisioned in K-State 2025. The project is to consider whether the ways that have served K-State in the past and will meet our needs in the future for human resources, equal employment opportunity and related Title IX services. Aon Hewitt has been asked to review and make recommendations about the processes that impact all of us — faculty, unclassified and classified staff. K-State is now beginning the journey to examine and improve our human capital enterprise this month with the goal of Aon Hewitt completing their work by February 2013.

To recap, the first step of the project was surveying everyone performing work in human resources and related fields. An email was sent last week asking those individuals to participate in an online survey to help us understand how their time is allocated when performing a number of activities. The deadline for completing this survey is 5 p.m. today.

The second step of the project is interviewing subject matter experts in human resources, equal employment opportunity and related Title IX services. Aon Hewitt Consultants continue to interview K-State stakeholders.

We look forward to working with you as we partner with Aon Hewitt on this important 2025 initiative to improve our human capital systems. For general questions about the project, please contact a member of the project team at hcp2025@ksu.edu
