Preventive Maintenance
Maintenance personnel within the Division of Facilities perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to maximize the operational reliability of our campus’ building systems.
This type of maintenance consists of routine, scheduled service to keep equipment functioning properly without an acute call for service.
Many of the older buildings have systems and equipment that have outlasted their rated life expectancy – a testament to the benefit of a robust preventive maintenance program.
Examples of routine preventive maintenance are:
· Changing air filters in HVAC units
· Lubricating bearings (motors, pumps, blowers)
· Vibration Analysis
· Testing Backflow devices
· Inspecting Roof Surfaces
