Economics Club hosting presentation today on US immigrant employment trends

Submitted by Daniel Kuester

On Monday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m., the Economics Club, a registered departmental student organization, will host Hugh Cassidy who will present on "The Fall and Rise of Immigrant Employment During the COVID-19 Pandemic." The meeting will take place in 350 Waters Hall and the K-State community is warmly invited to attend. A Zoom option to attend will be available at ksu.zoom.us/my/dkuester.

Cassidy's main areas of research are labor economics, personnel economics and immigration. He is especially interested in skill accumulation and task usage, and hierarchical mobility i.e., promotions and demotions. He is also doing research on occupational licensing, especially as it relates to immigrants and their role as a labor market signal.
