Learn more about K-State's Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative Grant

Submitted by Cailin Wycoff

The Center for the Advancement of Digital Scholarship at K-State Libraries will host several hybrid information sessions about the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant. Attendees will learn more about the program and resources available to support the adoption or creation of open educational resources.

The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative provides grants between $2,000-$10,000 for instructors to adopt or create open educational resources for their classrooms. The initiative aims to make education more affordable for K-State students. Since 2016, the initiative has saved students more than $10 million.

Friday, Dec. 1, is the submission deadline for the fall 2023 grant submissions.

All grant applicants are highly encouraged to attend one of the upcoming general information sessions.

  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, in 111 Hale Library and via Zoom.
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in 111 Hale Library and via Zoom.

More details, including Zoom dial-in information, can be found on the event webpage.

If you are interested in learning more about the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative and are unable to attend either of these sessions, please contact the Center for the Advancement of Digital Scholarship to schedule a consultation.
