Empowering cancer research and scholarly pursuits: Upcoming award deadlines

Submitted by Sherry Fleming

The Johnson Cancer Research Center at Kansas State University continues to spearhead groundbreaking cancer research initiatives while nurturing the growth of the next generation of researchers. Committed to fostering excellence, the center facilitates faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows through competitive award programs.

Open to all center faculty members, these award programs also extend the opportunity for faculty to sponsor applications submitted of their students. It is noteworthy that Biology Graduate Student Travel Awards, in alignment with the donors' intent, are exclusively available to Division of Biology graduate students.

In an effort to streamline administrative processes, the registrar's office now offers a user-friendly online transcript ordering system, complete with the convenience of electronic PDF delivery. Further details can be found on the registrar's website.

The following are key award deadlines.

Feb. 16:

  • Graduate Student Cancer Research Award.
  • Graduate Cancer Research Scholarship and Support.

March 1:

  • Innovative Research Award.
  • Rhabdomyosarcoma Research Award.
  • Linders Family Cancer Research Expansion Award.
  • Core Facilities Equipment Award.
  • Cancer Research Collaboration of Excellence.
  • Faculty, Postdoc and Student Travel Awards.
