Aerospace studies
Find out how to take your college experience to new heights. Air Force ROTC cadets receive hands-on leadership training at the highest level. Come by the building named after our current university president, Myers Hall, to take part in games, demonstrations, activities and tours. Cadets and instructors will be on hand to answer any questions you might have about the Air Force or ROTC. We will also have an informational booth in the Union and the Engineering Complex.
American ethnic studies
American ethnic studies graduates report lower post-graduation unemployment and an above-average starting salary. Stop by and explore the possibilities! Also, check out some of the things you'll learn, from hip-hop to Cumbia, liberation theology to women of color, feminism and much more!
Anthropology
Anthropology provides deep understanding of the human experience through study of culture, language and human biology around the world and through time. Anthropological insight and skills launch adventurous careers helping communities, businesses, NGOs and governments better understand, empathize, aid and work with diverse people.
Art
Visit the studios in Willard Hall to watch art students demonstrate photo printing, drawing processes, interactive art and more. Purchase student art, create a custom T-shirt or poster and view an exhibition of student work in the Chapman Gallery.
Biochemistry and molecular biophysics
Want to know the secrets of life? Learn about becoming a biochemist, including how molecules work inside a living cell. Extract DNA from strawberries, see glow-in-the-dark seeds and study the insects used in university research.
Biology
Learn about wildlife, meet critters and discuss cutting-edge research in genetics, microbiology, ecology and more. We'll have demos by the K-State Student Chapter of the Wildlife Society, and biology and microbiology graduate students will available to answer questions. If you're interested in a career in the biological sciences (medicine, veterinary medicine, wildlife biology and more), come chat!
Cancer Research Center
Visit the Johnson Cancer Research Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, to learn how K-State is fighting cancer and tour a cancer research laboratory. Open from 10 a.m. to noon.
Chapman Center for Rural Studies
Interested in a paid research internship for college credit? Visit with us in the Union about interdisciplinary undergraduate research with the Chapman Center and the added value to your K-State degree. Learn about Kansas leaders like aviator Clyde Cessna, visit our mini movie theater and immerse yourself in the "My History" stations.
Chemistry
Visit us in the Union to build molecular models in virtual and augmented reality, see what you can spell using the periodic table, discuss chemistry with the ACS student organization and view interesting laboratory apparatus. Discuss chemistry with current students and view interesting laboratory equipment. At 10:30 a.m. in 114 Willard Hall, witness a scientific glassblowing demonstration. At noon, check out a chemistry demonstration with explosions, glowing reactions and thrills galore.
Communication studies
If you want to make a difference in your relationships, workplace and community, learn more about communication studies. Stop by our booth in the Union and see how you can customize your college experience and reach your career goals through international study-abroad experiences, internships and undergraduate research. Find out about competing with our nationally recognized speech, debate or mock trial teams.
ArtSci Diversity Committee
Take the Harvard Implicit Association Test, or IAT, which measures attitudes and beliefs that people may be unwilling or unable to report. Also, learn some facts about Civil Rights history and diversity.

Geography
If you want to travel the world, explore how space interacts with time, or better understand global diversity, consider a career in geography. You'll be introduced to the department's geographic information system, a high-demand technology. Don't miss the geo-spatial demonstration desk!
Geology
Jump to generate an earthquake and watch the seismic waves as they are recorded on a seismometer. Check out the cycle between different types of rocks on Earth, and use our microscopes to look through rocks and gemstones. Try to identify minerals (fool's gold, anyone?). Learn about the mineral and energy resources of Kansas.
Health professions

History
See the LeCompton Civil War Re-enactors re-enact debates about slavery, "Bleeding Kansas” and the Civil War in the quad at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Also, visit us in the Union to play a historical game and win a prize! Find out how classes in history can help you not only get a job but a real-world education.
International and area studies
Visit our table to learn how you can enhance your profile by adding a secondary major in international or Latin American studies. Expand your horizons through doing in-depth research on a topic of your choice.
Journalism and mass communications
Feel the wind under your virtual rotors with our drone simulator, visit with students and faculty, and learn about student involvement opportunities in journalism and strategic communications. Learn about public relations, videography, writing, photography and advertising opportunities with Manhappenin' Magazine, The Royal Purple Yearbook, The Collegian, KSDB 91.9FM and KKSUTV. Then, head over to our KKSU-TV broadcasting studio in Dole Hall and experiment with a green screen and teleprompter.
Mathematics
The Manhattan Mathematical Olympiad competition for grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12 will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in 101 Cardwell Hall. The I-Center will host an exhibition of undergraduate research posters and mathematical games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in 143 Cardwell Hall. Visitors will can watch the film “Navajo Math Circles” featuring K-State faculty member Dave Auckly, and get information about the I-Center and alumni center career placement. Stop by our table in the Union from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Military science
Target success. Stop by our table to learn more about our pre-professional program, which includes leadership development, military skills and adventure training.
Modern languages
What if you didn't need an interpreter to talk to your patients? What would it be like to negotiate with clients over dinner in their own language, or read mythology in its original language? Students and advisors at our table in the Union will answer your questions about where world languages could take you.
School of Music, Theatre, and Dance
If you like to make music, act or dance, regardless of your major, there are performance opportunities for everyone! Find us in the Union to explore exciting opportunities such as marching band, performing ensembles, plays, musicals and dance companies.

Philosophy

Physics
Stop by Cardwell Hall and get hands-on with some of our user-friendly demonstrations. At 9:30 a.m., visit 144 Cardwell for a one-hour lecture on the history and science of dark matter, dark energy and cosmological expansion. At 12:30 p.m., witness our favorite physics demonstrations in 103 Cardwell Hall.
Political science
You don't need political aspirations to choose political science! We study why countries go to war, how candidates win elections, how government programs are developed and much more. Learn how this degree develops many of the skills necessary for post-college success.
Psychological sciences
Psychology explores why people do things — including brain structures; mental processes; and social forces that shape our perceptions, decisions and behaviors. Our interactive activities include visual illusions, coloring sheets and opportunities to participate in rotating surveys.
Social work
Social work is the “helping profession.” Stop by to see all the things you can do with a social work degree.
Sociology and criminology

Statistics
Are you a curious person? Are you interested in learning from data? Statistics is the science of collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. Visit us and learn about many education paths in the field of statistics.
Theatre
Visit the new Purple Masque Theatre on the west side of Memorial Stadium for backstage tours. Keep your eyes open throughout the day; you never know when you might "See Theatre" around campus as roving performers could break into a song, speech or a stage fight!

Kansas State University's Polytechnic Campus is centered around the student experience, emphasizing innovative learning, real-world experiences and industry connections. Our student to faculty ratio is 14:1 - meaning our faculty are focused on each individual student. We are a tight-knit family with a small college feel and the resources of a Big 12 university.
