Emergency Evacuation
This policy addresses the emergency evacuation of people from Anderson Hall. Areas of Rescue Assistance (ARA) are currently not available in Anderson Hall 3-18-2014.
- Emergency Evacuation Procedures
- Whenever the fire alarm is activated, all persons capable of exiting must leave the building as promptly as possible via the nearest available exit. Do Not Use Elevators.
- Use the emergency call box near your location, pick up the receiver and dial 911 to notify the University Police about the emergency.
- Per the University Fire Marshal, people needing assistance to evacuate the building should position themselves by the elevator if there is no smoke in the hall. Otherwise go to the nearest exterior window and make sure emergency rescue personal can see you. Call 911 with your cell phone/existing phone letting the despatcher know your location and that you need help getting out of the building.
- Office of the Registrar staff located in 118 Anderson Hall and 001 Anderson Hall will exit building and meet at the east door of the K-State Student Union.
- No one is expected to endanger him/herself in order to assist with evacuation of others, but each person should ensure that other occupants are aware of an emergency. Individuals should aid anyone requiring assistance to safely exit.
