PD Information

The Professional Development location and times are set:

• April 8, 2022 - K-State Salina Campus, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Computer Science session) -- Session Schedule
• April 22, 2022 - K-State Salina Campus, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Aerospace Engineering session)
• April 29, 2022 K-State Salina Campus 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Artificial Intelligence session)

The PD Sessions will focus on methods of integrating each topic into the general science classroom, coordination of what will be taught during the Summer STEAM Camp sessions, tours of K-State Salina facilities, and time to work with the classroom equipment. We will attempt to distribute classroom equipment on April 22 and 29, but supply chain shortages may cause delays in receiving full sets.

What teachers need to bring:

• 1:1 Technology, ideally a laptop + charger

Teachers who complete the in-person and asynchronous PD will be eligible for graduate credit. More details are available here.

If you have conflicts or circumstances preventing you from attending the in-person professional development, please contact the REC as soon as possible.

Directions to Salina Campus

All PD will be in the College Center Conference Room on the Salina Campus. View the map below. Please note North is to the right, not at the top. We ask that all visitor park in lot B-3 (marked by yellow square). The meetings will be held in the College Center Conference Room in Building 8 on the campus map (marked by a star).

Directions from I-70 and I-135:

If you are traveling east or west on I-70, stay on I-70 until the I-70/I-135 interchange. Travel south on I-135 to the Magnolia Road exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia Road, then north on Centennial Road and proceed to the K-State Salina campus.

If you are traveling north or south on I-135, take the Magnolia Road exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia Road, then north on Centennial Road and proceed to the K-State Salina campus.
