Wichita construction firm donates truck to engineering student chapter
The K-State Associated General Contractors Student Chapter is sporting new wheels.
Key Construction Inc., Wichita, through the KSU Foundation, donated a 2003 Ford F250 pickup truck to the student organization in March.
The company had previously donated a covered trailer and tools to outfit the chapter for its service projects around the Manhattan area and on out-of-state alternative break projects.
"This gift of the truck will truly enhance the volunteer activities our chapter members take on each semester," said Ray Buyle, assistant professor of architectural engineering and construction science and faculty adviser for the chapter. "We are extremely appreciative of all of Key's support of and interest in our programs in the College of Engineering."
Chapter members have already made good use of the gift during completion of a recent service project on the Konza Prairie, as well as using it to pull the department's float entry in this spring's Engineering Open House parade.
