Modern languages department to host Graduate Applied Language Teaching Symposium
The modern languages department will host its inaugural Graduate Applied Language Teaching Symposium, scheduled for April 25, 2025.
The symposium aims to bring together graduate students and teachers involved in second language teaching and education in Kansas, providing them with an opportunity to share their perspectives, insights, experiences and the latest advancements in their respective fields of applied language teaching.
We invite submissions for three proposal types: Research-oriented, practice-oriented and roundtable discussions. Each proposal requires a concise title and an abstract that outlines the presentation's focus.
- Research-oriented proposals — 300-word max abstract, excluding references; 20-minute presentation on research related to applied language teaching and related fields.
- Practice-oriented proposals — 300-word max abstract, excluding references; 20-minute presentation of practice-oriented approaches to language teaching and related fields.
- Roundtable discussion proposals — 200-word max abstract, excluding references; 5-minute presentation about a research project that you are interested in pursuing or are in the initial stages of developing
Individuals may submit up to two proposals for different presentation types — e.g., practice-oriented and roundtable. Learn more details about each proposal type and to begin the proposal submission process.
