K-State, GCCC collaborate on four-year degree programs in southwest Kansas

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

Kansas State University and Garden City Community College have signed a partnership agreement to bring bachelor's degree programs to southwest Kansas.

This initiative enables students to complete their first 60 to 75 credit hours at Garden City Community College before finishing their bachelor’s degrees with K-State without having to leave southwest Kansas. Programs will combine remote instruction with on-site lab experiences, offering flexibility and alignment with local workforce demands in fields like agriculture, education, and health and human sciences.

"K-State is a natural fit to help increase the number of four-year degree holders in southwest Kansas," said K-State Provost and Executive Vice President Jesse Perez Mendez. "By listening to the needs of our Kansas communities, K-State is committed to continuously finding new ways to serve and support the people of Kansas and the state’s economy. This innovative partnership is how a next-generation land-grant university ensures access to educational opportunities."
