Deadline approaching to apply for equipment grants from Kansas Water Institute
The application deadline for equipment grants from the Kansas Water Institute is rapidly approaching.
The institute will provide up to $1 million in funding for equipment acquisitions that advance water-related research, teaching or engagement. Proposals requesting between $50,000 and $250,000 are due Jan. 10. To be eligible, colleges, departments or units must commit to a 25% match.
Application instructions and other details are available online.
Successful applicants will include details about how the equipment will help address one or more of the guiding principles of the Kansas State Water Plan. These principles include conserving and extending the High Plains Aquifer, protecting and restoring Kansas reservoirs, improving state water quality, reducing vulnerability to extreme events and increasing awareness of Kansas water resources.
More information is available on the Kansas Water Institute website. Awards will be announced by Jan. 30.
