National search begins for vice president for research

The Office of the President announces a national search for the next vice president for research at Kansas State University. The university has engaged the services of WittKieffer, an executive search firm, to support the search committee with the process. 

Reporting to the president, the vice president for research is responsible for encouraging and facilitating the integration and enhancement of research activities across the university's colleges and multiple research centers, and they will lead universitywide strategic research growth activities. In addition, the vice president for research will lead the acquisition of research funding; the planning and development of academic research space; patenting and commercialization; the incubation of new companies and recruitment of corporate research partners; and public outreach.
