Submitted by the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance
Twelve dancers from the K-State dance program recently attended a three-day series of classes, workshops and performances at the American College Dance Association Conference hosted by the University of Oklahoma, showcasing their talent and creative research.
Abbey Griffin, Annika Wiebers and Jacob Rogers presented their original research projects, receiving valuable feedback to shape their future work. Griffin's contemporary concert dance, "the way that it is," was featured in the Adjudicated Concert, while Wiebers' screendance, "Wondering, Wandering, Waiting," was presented in the Screendance Program. Rogers presented "Transcendence," a solo piece, in the Informal Concert.
Additionally, Teaching Assistant Professor Stephen Loch's creative research piece, "The Fullness of Time," was selected for the Adjudicated Concert and earned a spot in the prestigious Gala performance, highlighting the exceptional artistry of K-State dance.
All four presentations showcased the remarkable talent of K-State's dancers, reinforcing the program's commitment to innovation and excellence in dance.
