Call for university partners to co-sponsor First-generation Student Graduation Celebration
The First-generation Student Center will host the eighth annual First-generation Student Graduation Celebration for graduates and their families on Friday, May 16. Through strong partnerships and collaborations across campus, we celebrated graduating first-generation students and their families during the past few years. Students will receive a green cord to wear to commencement ceremonies that symbolizes first-generation students' resilience.
Consider serving on the planning committee to coordinate and implement this event. The committee will meet four times during the spring 2025 semester starting in mid-March and leading up to the event. Partners are asked to consider making financial and/or in-kind contributions toward the event. Contributing partners will be acknowledged at the graduation reception.
If your office, unit or college is interested in co-sponsoring and collaborating in this event, please fill out the online survey by Monday, March 3.
Thank you for your partnership and collaboration to make this year's First-generation Student Graduation Reception possible.
