LGBT Resource Center to hold third annual leadership conference Oct. 18-19
The LGBT Resource Center at Kansas State University will have its third annual LGBT Leadership Conference. This year's conference theme is "Be the Change" and will focus on topics related to the LGBT community including, but not limited to, intersectionality, leadership and two-spirit individuals.
The conference starts at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 and will end 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. A more detailed schedule will be made public prior to the conference.
Brian Gilley will be the keynote speaker Friday evening while a showing of the independent film, Natives, which is currently hitting the film festival scene, will be Saturday afternoon with a discussion by Lisa Tatonetti following the show. Special guest Davis Hammett, co-founder of the Equality House, will also be speaking on Friday afternoon.
Conference attendance is free to all and includes all sessions, event materials and lunch on Saturday. Register online by 5 p.m. Oct. 16.
