Green Fund to be implemented on campus, info session available
K-State has a new Green Action Fund this year through an allocation of $40,000 to the K-State sustainability office from the Student Governing Association Student Centered Tuition Enhancement Fund.
An info session will be 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, in Room 226 at the K-State Student Union. Everyone is invited to learn more and discuss project ideas.
The Green Action Fund will fund proposals from students and faculty who work together in creating proposals that implement sustainability projects and promote sustainability on campus. There are infinite project ideas but they must have tangible environmental, economic and educational benefits to the university and especially to students. The maximum request for a proposal will be $10,000, but there is no minimum. Funding must be spent by June 1, and any remaining funding after this date must be returned to Student Governing Association.
Guidelines and by-laws can be found online. Proposals are accepted without deadline on a rolling basis, and proposals will be reviewed until all funds have been allocated. Proposals questions about the Green Action Fund should be submitted by email to the sustainability office at sustainability@k-state.edu.
