Holocaust exhibit leaving Hale Library soon
This week marks the final days a Holocaust exhibit will be on display at Hale Library before moving to the Kansas Statehouse on Friday.
"The World Knew: Jan Karski’s Mission for Humanity" will be displayed in the Capitol rotunda for the week of Oct. 28, giving more people access to the exhibit on loan from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago.
"The goal of this exhibit is to educate about the moral responsibility to act and not just be a bystander," said Consul General Paulina Kapuścińska. "Even though Poland suffered double occupation — by the then-allied Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Russia — she never officially capitulated and used all of its might to save as many lives as it could."
