Orthel speaks on sustaining self and culture at American Folklore Society
Bryan Orthel, assistant professor in interior design in the College of Human Ecology, presented "Sustaining self and culture: Examples of self-identity in three American communities" at the annual meeting of the American Folklore Society in Providence, R.I., in October.
He also was a participant at the invitation-only symposium, Critiquing the North American Design Ph.D.: A Symposium Exploring the Institutional Frameworks for Practice-Transforming Design Research hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.
