Use of video game technology helps you help students
Faculty and staff can enhance skills with video gaming technology. Two free online training modules can help you approach students who may be struggling and improve ways to support our veteran students. Counseling services, SafeZone and the office of student life offer the following to you.
How you can help identify and assist at-risk students: The at-risk training simulations are aimed at increasing your confidence and enhancing your skills in approaching students in need. The first training module takes about 45 minutes. To open your own account using the enrollment key, ksu61.
We encourage you to go through the at-risk training prior to using this next training.
How you can help create a supportive campus for veteran students: Our college community is becoming increasingly aware of the unique challenges facing our returning student veteran population and the negative impact these challenges may have on their health and academic performance.
In this 30-minute course, you will learn how to manage a class discussion around a veteran sensitive topic and help a student veteran who’s struggling academically in your class.
Take the course by opening an account using the enrollment key, ksu61. You do need to enroll separately for this even if you had previously taken the general at-risk training listed above.
