Nominations for 2012 K-State student ambassadors now open
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
As the fall semester hits full stride, the time to plan and promote Homecoming Week 2011 has come. One of the most important events taking place during Homecoming Week at K-State is the election of the two K-State student ambassadors, one male and female, who represent the university at a variety of events organized by the K-State Alumni Association and the president's office.
We are asking for your help in reaching out to qualified students who possess tremendous school spirit and pride to apply for the student ambassador position.
Nominations can be submitted online. In order to make the process easier, you can make nominations here. From there, you can find a description of the student ambassador position, a sample application and a nomination form. You can also either print off a nomination form from that website or use the attached form and campus mail it back to the Alumni Center.
We ask that you please provide us with the necessary contact information of students you believe would be outstanding candidates and interested in this position. Feel free to forward this address on to who would have possible nominations to make.
The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. Students who are nominated will be notified by mail with a 2012 student ambassador application and will also have the option to complete the application via the alumni association website.
Student and faculty/staff panels select student ambassador finalists through an interview process. The finalists are then up for election by the student body during Homecoming Week. Candidates will be judged by their enthusiasm for K-State, leadership skills and university involvement. Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
Thank you for helping promote this fun and honored position that will represent Kansas State University in the coming year. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Gavin Hargrave, the student ambassador adviser, at 532-5057 or via email.
