Online registration ends soon for training opportunity to enhance interactions with military-affiliated students
K-State counseling services and non-traditional and veteran student services are offering a training opportunity through the Center for Deployment Psychology from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom. The seminar works to increase competency in addressing the unique concerns, challenges, culture and experience of service members and veterans attending college.
The cost is $15 without continuing education unit credits or $35 with credits. Attendees will be able to register on the day of the event, but limited spots are available. To register select the K-State training. Registration closes April 18.
While the program is designed for mental health care providers, all faculty and staff are invited to attend. The curriculum includes information regarding deployment stressors, outreach opportunities, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
