Strong student enrollment enables K-State to provide mid-year pay increase to faculty and unclassified staff
Continued strong student enrollment and an improved financial situation at Kansas State University will permit a permanent mid-year 2.5 percent pay increase for faculty and unclassified staff.
"We are raising salaries for our high quality faculty members and our service-oriented unclassified professionals," said President Kirk Schulz. "We realize many people have been without salary increases for a considerable time. This represents a start toward getting our salaries up to where they should be to meet our K-State 2025 goals."
"One of the outcomes we intend to reach in the K-State 2025 plan is to achieve faculty and staff compensations competitive with our peer universities," said April Mason, provost and senior vice president.
"This salary increase for faculty and unclassified staff is the first overall raise since July 2008," said Bruce Shubert, vice president for administration and finance. "Their salaries are set by the university. Classified positions and salaries are not controlled by the university, consequently we can only adjust the salary of unclassified positions, though we will continue to explore ways to help and support our classified staff. We will work with campus leaders over the next few weeks to finalize details."
