Workshop for 2014 common book selection on April 24
Wondering how you can incorporate the 2014 common book selection into your work with students this fall?
On Thursday, April 24, the K-State Book Network, or KSBN, will host a workshop for faculty, staff, graduate teaching assistants, and student leaders to discuss how Steven Johnson's "The Ghost Map" can be part of course work and event programming. The workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 227 of the K-State Student Union.
Tara Coleman, chair of the K-State Book Network, and other members of K-State Book Network will share resources for Johnson's book. As its full title suggests, history, public health, engineering, water, sustainability, geography, creativity and leadership are just some of the issues that intersect in "The Ghost Map: The Story of London's Most Terrifying Epidemic — and How It Changed Science, Cities and the Modern World."
Participants are welcome to bring their lunch. RSVP by April 23 to reserve a seat and for an opportunity to receive a copy of "The Ghost Map" at the workshop.
