Hasler wins presidential award
Fred Hasler, associate professor of architectural engineering and construction science, will receive a Presidential Award from the Illuminating Engineering Society in recognition of his exemplary efforts in support of the society.
Hasler, a member of the Kansas City section of the organization, serves as faculty adviser for the student group on campus, and chairs both the president's task force on leadership and engagement and the society-level membership committee, as well a being a member of the video conference lighting committee.
The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, with nearly 8,000 members, is the recognized technical authority on illumination. Members work with lighting in a variety of capacities as it involves designers, architects, interior designers, government and utility personnel, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, researchers and educators around the world.
Hasler is licensed professional engineer in the state of Kansas, as well as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, accredited professional.
