Submitted by Cathie Lavis

Back by popular demand, Todd Zakrajsek, co-author of the book "The New Science of Learning: Concepts and Strategies for Changing the Way We Teach," will visit K-State once again at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in the K-State Student Union's Little Theater.

The last time Zakrajsek was on our campus, he delivered an engaging, informative presentation at the 2013 Spring Teaching Workshop.

Zakrajsek is the executive director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He was previously the inaugural director of the Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching at Central Michigan University and the founding director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Southern Oregon University, where he also taught in the psychology department as a tenured associate professor in the psychology department. He also directs the Lilly Conference on Teaching and Learning at Traverse City, Michigan, and the International Conference on Improving University Teaching.

Zakrajsek received his doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from Ohio University. He has published and presented widely on the topic of student learning, including workshops and conference keynote addresses in more than 30 states and four countries in the past several years.
