Experts discuss individual rights Feb. 12
If a cop stops you, does he have the right to search your backpack? Do your rights change when you're on foot rather than in a car? When do all those annoying texts become stalking?
These questions and others regarding domestic violence, protection orders and Fourth, Fifth and Sixth amendment rights are on the docket on Thursday, Feb. 12, when the Office of Pre-Law Advising will offer a panel, "Ignorance of the Law is No Excuse: Learn How the Law Protects You," at 6:30 p.m. in the Flint Hills Room of the K-State Student Union.
The Honorable Sheila Hochhauser, chief magistrate judge of the state of Kansas, and Jeremy Platt, esquire of the law firm of Clark and Platt, will speak about your individual rights.
Come and hear the experts explain your individual rights in real life situations. Join in the discussion and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions following the discussion.
