Frank Tracz conducts the Ohio All-State Band
Frank Tracz, director of bands and professor of music, conducted the Ohio All-State Band in Cleveland, Ohio, recently.
The ensemble is audition-only and comprised of the finest wind and percussion players in the state of Ohio. The concert was in the new Cleveland Convention Center in downtown Cleveland, as part of the Ohio Music Educators Association annual teachers conference.
Tracz rehearsed the ensemble for more than 30 hours over three days, which culminated in a concert for nearly 5,000 people. The Ohio All-State Band is considered one of the strongest honor groups in the country with many of its students eventually choosing to play for top university music programs.
